❻The Tomatin Distillery Co. Ltd（U.K.）
The origins of Tomatin can be traced back to the 15th century, but the modern distillery was founded in 1897 in the Scottish Highlands about 25 kilometers south of the city of Inverness in Tomatin, a small village with a population of 500. The water used to make Tomatin comes from the Alt na Frith (“stream of freedom”) running through the Monadhliath Mountains, which is fed by a spring that seeps slowly through the peat and granite, producing rich, soft water with a mildness that gives Tomatin its delicate taste. Among the villagers are those who apply their skills to preserving the traditional flavors of Tomatin, and pass down their passion and expertise to each successive generation.
